In the last blog, we read about the 1st House “Me“. Today, we will study about “Mine” the 2nd House.
Broadly, the 2nd House represents one’s possessions It will also depict what kind of resources we have at our disposal, Now the resources can be mental, emotional, or physical since it can show both, creative and material possessions.
Mainly, everyone looks at the 2 nd house when they think about accumulated wealth family But it is one of the main houses when you want to look at the one’s earning capacity.
1st House represents the physical body, but the second house specifically relates to the :
- Face Hence the beauty of the face, any problems with it, etc
- Eyes Hence eye problems as well Will there be any? Also the beauty of eyes, as well What about Visionary capacity? What about Creative imaginative potential?
- Mouth Hence type of Food we eat, eating drinking habits, teeth and the problems

A person with good 2nd House will have a strong imagination creativity and hence Administration of business, at work and handling money possessions will become a strong area.
Vision can also relate with foresight and capacity of acquiring knowledge This also helps in Administration This also becomes useful for Astrologers.

Also, family possessions are most of the time family tied Generations have passed them on from one generation to others Which we again assume it as ours, through inheritance.
Also, sometimes friends become family members and become an integral part of yours and yours’s family lives. Then we should also consider them from 2 nd House ..(Not every friend is like that Many times people don’t have any friends like that) Since you share your money, food, etc, they fight for you and you fight for them.
Don’t you think you get Family and its resources through past life karma Your past karma decides where you will be born But what you will do with your 2nd House depends on your present life karma?

Hence, 2nd House is sustenance and important for the 1 st House i.e. You/Me. It provides you substance for I, Me and Myself.
The 2nd House & the 12th House
We have established a relationship of 2nd House with the 1st Adding to that
The 2nd 12th Houses have a special role to play, as they are the adjacent house to the Lagna These are cushions of the native’s life
The condition of these houses decides a lot about the 1 st House(Lagna).

A House will prosper when its lord is placed in a Kendra(1,4,7,10) or Trine(5,9).
- If the Lord of the house is placed in a Kendra, the native will benefit from it and identify himself with that graha and hence will always protect its lordship. This can be both positive and negative since what if a negative house lord sits in a Kendra. Eg: If the Lagna Lord is placed in a Kendra, the native will work diligently for their ideals.

If the Lord of the House is in the 8th House, it may indicate some form of Karmic debt to that lord and the native will have to face hardships from the houses that planet lords.
Eg. If the Lagna lord is placed in 6th or 8th House, the native has a lot of bad luck in attaining their ideals, maybe because they are constantly fighting (6 th House) or are trying to clear their karmic debts to society which can monetary or through emotional or physical efforts.
