Astrology – 4th House – Bandhu – House of Relatives and Mother

This is the 4^th house of any birth chart. This is the house from where you see your mother, comforts, relatives, Joint family.

This house represents your Mother, native place, residence, domestic environment, grave, private affairs, secret life, luxury vehicles, fields, pastures, farms, orchards, mines, buildings, houses, real estate, your property, ancestral property, hidden treasure, academic education, wells, water, milk, ponds, lakes, divine knowledge, primary education, schooling real estate, ability to travel, clothing, furniture, vehicles, architect, gain through debt, home tuition, classes, restaurant, hotel, possession of anything (immovable property), conscious mind, jewellery, homeland.

Benefic planets placed well in the 4^th house give good results for the above significations. While Malefic planets place not so well in the 4^th house will create problems is the fructification of the above significations.

This house also called Sukha Sthana (comfort place) as it represents happiness and comforts.

Relatives it signifies are – Mother.

The body parts signified by this house are Chest, Heart.

Placements of different planets and lords of different houses in the 4^th house play a very crucial role to judge the entire well being of the house.

Below are the basic and general permutation and combinations, as given in the texts, if the 4^th lord is placed in the 12 different houses. This is at a very basic and mundane level. The actual impact can be judged when we combine the Lord placement with the sign and planet placements. But from a basic comprehension aspect, this will be helpful to understand as we go along. So, this is not to be taken literally as full diagnosis is required. You also have to understand, that these texts were written when our society and culture had much different values and norms. You have to be intelligent enough to interpret these according to today’s time place and condition. These are just excerpts. 4^th Lord in the 1^st house: Native will be endowed with learning, virtues, ornaments, lands, conveyances and maternal happiness.

4^th Lord in the 2^nd house: Native will enjoy pleasures, all kinds of wealth, family life and honour and be adventurous. He will be cunning in disposition.

4^th Lord in the 3^rd house: Native will be valorous, will have servants, be liberal, virtuous and charitable and will possess self-earned wealth. He will be free from diseases.

4^th Lord in the 4^th house: Native will be a minister and will possess all kinds of wealth. He will be skilful, virtuous, honourable, learned, happy and be well disposed to his spouse.

4^th Lord in the 5^th house: Native will be happy and be liked by all. He will be devoted to Śrī Vishnu, be virtuous, honourable and will have self-earned wealth.

4^th Lord in the 6^th house: Native will be devoid of maternal happiness, be given to anger, be a thief and a conjurer, be independent in action and be indisposed.

4^th Lord in the 7^th house: Native will be endowed with a high degree of education, will sacrifice his patrimony and be akin to the dumb in an assembly.

4^th Lord in the 8^th house: Native will be devoid of domestic and other comforts, will not enjoy much parental happiness and be equal to a neuter.

4^th Lord in the 9^th house: Native will be dear to one and all, be devoted to God, be virtuous, honourable and endowed with every land of happiness.

4^th Lord in the 10^th house: Native will enjoy royal honours, be an alchemist, be extremely pleased, will enjoy pleasures and will conquer his five senses.

4^th Lord in the 11^th house: Native will have fear of secret disease, he will be liberal, virtuous, charitable and helpful to others.

4^th Lord in the 12^th house: Native will be devoid of domestic and other comforts, will have vices and be foolish and indolent (Lazy).
